The Guard Vessel Good Practice document is high level guidance on the standards required for fishing vessels prior to being used for guard vessel duties within the UKCS.

It has been jointly developed and updated by the MSF, the Scottish Fishing Federation (SFF) and the National Federation of Fisherman’s Organisations (NFFO).

The document provides information on Management of Safety, Guard Vessel – Listing and Specification, Operational Areas, Vessel Inspection & Specification Document, Competency of Inspectors / Auditors, Pre-Sailing Inspection & Scope of Work, Guidelines on Fishermen’s Federation Guard Vessel Procedures Manual, Stability Requirements and Manning and Marine Qualifications required for such work.
